About us

Both scope of knowledge and technological advancements are ever-changing and expanding. These generations influence learning-teaching process intrinsically. Technology, especially computer and internet related technologies, has become indispensable for setting instructional environments and materials. It led educators seeking new learning/teaching theories and implementation methods. Thereby, instructional-learning technologies ensued its entity as a discipline. Recent developments in multimedia and web technologies have increased its importance.
 
Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies (CEIT) that is founded by taking into consideration of technological advancements and related needs is aimed to ensure to train teachers, educators, academicians and researchers that educational institutions need. Besides, it intends to make contribution to preservice teachers’ and sector employees’ professional development in terms of instructional design process, implementation of research methods that involve with learning-teaching approaches, technology integration and analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional systems.
 
Students who complete undergraduate program successfully are certified to obtain Bachelor Degree of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies and teacher certification. CEIT graduates are eligible to work as academicians within related university departments, teachers in public and private schools, project manager and developer in learning-teaching software companies, instructional designer, advisor of educational programs and specialist of test and evaluation.
 
Three assistant professors and 2 research assistants work in Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies, Faculty of Education, Bartin University.
