Teachers' schools celebrate the 170th anniversary

In our university, a panel was organized for the 170th anniversary of the teachers' schools which started to teach education in 1848 under the name of Dârülmuallimîn Mektebi. Rector of our university, who made the opening speech of the event, Dr. Orhan Uzun, referring to the importance of teaching as a profession, "Establishment of institutions to train these generations according to the requirements of the ages and the training of educators has become one of the most important topics in our history. The quality of the new generations will no doubt be identical to the qualities of the teachers who brought it up. "

"The history of Turkish education has a rich accumulation"

Rector Uzun emphasized that the history of Turkish education has a rich accumulation in teacher training. "One of the most important elements of this accumulation is the teachers' schools based on Dârülmuallimîn which was founded on 16 March 1848. Many times the name and the quality of teacher schools have changed since then, many teacher training models have been applied but this fever that has been extinguished in those schools has never faded. Today, however, important in Turkey in the field of teacher training and establishment of a permanent place in the schools in which teachers are experiencing the joy and excitement of the celebration of 170 years. "Teacher Schools", which have the greatest influence in becoming a profession that has been respected in our country for many years, stands as a productive model and soul. "

Emphasizing that teachers should be trained in a sound system, Dean of Faculty of Education. Dr. Cetin Semerci explained the process from Education 1.0 to Education 5.0 and transferred the activities of the faculties with their stakeholders to provide better education.

Why the curriculum was renewed

After the opening speeches, Professor of the Faculty of Education of the University. Dr. Speaking at the Semerci-led panel, Alpaslan Durmuş, Minister of National Education, Talim Finishing Board, spoke about "What do we do with curricula and curriculums?" And explained why curriculums were renewed and what their goals were.

"The curriculum has been simplified by simplifying redundancies, diluting the densities. It was aimed to gain fullness of the extract. Basic value, knowledge skill, competence, competence, attitude and behavior were reconciled to each other. It was aimed at reaching a harmonious whole from being separate. Elements inappropriate to our values ​​have been removed. A current structure has been prioritized. "

Teachers talked between truths and ideals

Ministry of National Education General Director of Teacher Training and Development Assoc. Dr. Semih Aktekin the "Teacher Training in Turkey Between Ideals and Realities" has said: "We just need to improve teacher training model at the same time to adapt to different professions for a non-professional." He said.

Aktekin, "We are following many curricula in the world. In the future we will not even hear the names of some professions. Today's education should be flexible because new professions will emerge. No state has the chance to employ all of its students in the public sector. Our mauses should also be directed to different areas outside the area they are reading. Besides, our students should not be satisfied with the courses they have taken but should improve themselves by taking different courses and seminars. "
